This experimental rig has been design as a batch reactor with built in autoclaving, monitoring and sampling. The reactor
has a 50 L capacity and it is rated PC2 (Physical Containment 2).

| Control System |
|
A Schneider Electric Quantum PLC provides process control and web based access to the plant. As with the Webplant, the
control structure is predominantly a combination of structure text and function blocks, which at the moment is mainly
used to perform controlled sterilization and culture growth.
